Our mission is to empower African communities to lead transformative change by advancing health equity, climate resilience, inclusive governance, and economic opportunity through locally driven solutions.
SDA is committed to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with scalable, community-driven initiatives. Through a variety of initiatives, SDA’s goal is to promote climate-resilient livelihoods through projects involving clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and food security; expand inclusive governance through education access, institution support, and peace-building; and foster innovation and digital inclusion to equip youth, women, and greater communities with tools to succeed in the global economy.
Each of SDA’s pillars directly aligns with multiple SDGs.
SDA is aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, underscoring inclusive growth and environmental sustainability. From supporting smallholder farmers and youth-led enterprises to advancing civic education and leadership, we strive to empower communities to drive accountability, good governance and environmental sustainability.
By developing and implementing programs that will directly contribute to the Africa We Want, SDA will help build resilient societies where every community has the capacity to shape its destiny.
We are building a movement of locally rooted changemakers across Africa—starting from the ground up.
